Kris James' 'Nine Lives' sees him back on top

Kris James, previously of 'Get Back to Love' fame, has returned with a tropical house-pop bop about the sweet spot of a doomed relationship - 'Nine Lives' sees Kris at his most honest, pairing uplifting melodies with lyrics exploring the realities of an imploding relationship.

Beginning his singing career in his home city of Liverpool, it's no wonder that James took influences from the greatest songwriters of history whilst growing up. Elements of McCartney/Lennon can clearly be found in his lyrical approaches to love. "Is there hope for the two of us in this world?" asks Kris over a dance beat which interestingly opposes the down-to-earth subject matter.

Another notch in the belt for an up-and-coming pop songwriter you should have on your radar
