Ludwig Art Museum

As a school trip, I went to Germany where we got the chance to look round an art museum. This art museum contained work in my chosen art form, pop art.

Ludwig Art Museum

Ludwig Art Museum, 1st December 2017

On the 1st of December I went to the Ludwig Art Museum as part of my German trip with my school. By chance, the Museum had a whole section on Pop Art, my chosen art form. So I decided to include a review on this museum for my Part C, Unit 1 for my Silver Arts Award.

Even though it wasn't an 'event', it still helped me get a wider view on the term 'pop art'. I have been to other museums before, but they contained mostly older art pieces. The pop art section in the Ludwig Art Museum was especially interesting as all the pieces stood out and were very bright, contrasting all the faded paintings in the other sections. The pop art also helped me with inspiration for what to draw next for my Part B, Unit 1.

This pop art section was something new and something which I had not really seen before in a museum. I though it was a very interesting section as it showed modern art over more old art forms. However, I would have liked to see more pop art from different artists (most of it was by Andy Warhol). I would recommend going to the Ludwig Art Museum if you happen to ever be in Germany as it was a very nice museum and experience.

I’m glad you’ve taken so much away from this experience. It is great to get a chance to appreciate the wider art world. And visiting an art gallery definitely counts as ‘going to an event’ for Arts Award.
