Pilgrims

A tale of sacrifice, love and brotherhood could rarely be more intriguing

Pilgrims

Two mountaineers are forced to test their friendship and dignity for the sake of what (or who) they love. Whilst the rundown of this play could sound like a normal "two men fight over a girl" concept, this show takes the concept and twists it on its head.

Premiering at Suffolk's Hightide Festival, Pilgrims uses a unique writing style that forces the audience to really think - two men may be fighting over a girl, but how does she feel about the whole thing? This helps to give the third character dimension, often reduced to the role of prize.

The acting was perfect in my opinion, but the writing style and structure did leave me a tad confused to what was going on at some points. But this was quickly eradicated with the not so typical ending, that considers the things we sacrifice in the pursuit of happiness.

Superb acting, great concept with excellent delivery - a promising start for this new piece of theatre.
