John Robertson Arena Spectacular

Tiny room, huge energy!

John Robertson Arena Spectacular

There are few with as much energy as John Robertson – he literally explodes into the room, completely filling it with both presence and voice. This being said, in a room the size of a repurposed broom cupboard, it perhaps isn't the most amazing feat. Deciding to forego the microphone , Robertson could still be heard easily from the back of the room, especially when he decided to venture there and ensure everyone got equal harassing.

For those who saw Robertson's previous shows, you will be pleased (if you liked them) to know that Arena Spectacular follow the very similar format. His dark, scathing and overly offensive comedy had the room in stitches… when they weren't looking absolutely anywhere but at him in the futile hope that he wouldn't spy and immediately target them!

What I personally absolutely love about his style of comedy is that it seems so chaotic, so crazy, unplanned and unstructured that you are constantly questioning if maybe he is just making the whole thing up as he goes along. Did he just rent a room, buy some flyers and then decide "it will be alright on the night"? Legitimately, I don't know, but it works for him.

There has to be some level of planning, because Robertson had an enjoyable show finisher that helps him realise his really childhood dream of playing in an arena.

The content of this show will you uncomfortable if you don't like discussions of sex dungeons, bondage, one ISIS joke, and the possibility of being torn to shreds.

If that all sounds appealing to you, then welcome, fellow odd-ball, we're glad to have you among us!

Not to be missed!
