Film Review: KAMA – A Gripping, High-Stakes Thriller

Explosive. Sexy. Violent. These words barely scratch the surface of KAMA, a  gripping and unpredictable thriller that refuses to let go. Directed by the award-winning Veemsen Lama, this emotionally charged film delivers a brutal exploration of love, betrayal, and the dark lengths people will go to for vengeance.

At the heart of the story is Leo (Tank Dhamala), a battle-hardened soldier who returns home from Afghanistan to face the unthinkable—his wife Maya’s sudden death. But just as he begins to grieve, Leo is blindsided by a shocking discovery that turns his sorrow into seething rage.

Determined to uncover the truth, he hunts down a suave and arrogant movie star (Matt Wakeford) to uncover dangerous secrets. What follows is a nail-biting confrontation that crackles with raw intensity—a deadly game of truth and deceit where neither man is willing to back down.

What sets KAMA apart is its stylish direction and unflinching portrayal of violence and deception. Sharp filmmaking keeps the tension taut, with gritty cinematography and a seductive, dangerous allure, ensuring the narrative remains unpredictable until the very last frame.

Verdict:
KAMA doesn't hold back - raw, riveting, and ruthlessly unpredictable. 4.5/5
