Plastic Jeezus are a delightfully silly musical duo that performs with deadpan humour and ukuleles. Their songs cover bizarre topics such as Lady Gaga eating couscous on a train, a very hairy vicar, and getting your hand stuck in a horse's bum.
The duo's serious faces and comical "musical differences" between songs add to their unique style. Even when their humour gets a bit naughty or involves poop jokes, there's a certain wholesome charm about Plastic Jeezus. I don't want to spoil any of their quips, but the ones involving an Oreo, a Toblerone, a tortoise, and an egg were particularly brilliant - watch the show to find out more!
"E For Effort" is a catchy tune that not only brings the laughs but also stays in your head for days. You might find yourself humming it in the coffee shop line, although I wouldn't recommend singing 'not every bank is a sperm bank' under your breath.
Can Plastic Jeezus be considered shoegazing indie geniuses? Are they the Wiggles for adults? And will I ever be able to enjoy Morris dancing again?
If you don't take comedy too seriously, I highly recommend checking them out. They are extraordinarily funny.
