Review for Voice at Edinburgh Festival Fringe!

Do you love writing? Do you love fringe theatre? Then you're in luck! We're looking for a group of talented 16-25 year olds to review shows at Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Review for Voice at Edinburgh Festival Fringe!

What's it all about?

This August, Voice will be travelling up to Edinburgh to cover the largest arts festival in the world... the comedy shows, theatre shows, street acts, mime acts – you name it, we'll be covering it.

But, with such a big event, we're looking for more writers on the streets throughout the month. If you live in the Edinburgh area, or know that you'll be in Edinburgh at any point between 3rd – 27th August 2018, we'd love to hear from you.

Who are we looking for?

You must be passionate about the arts. You should have a critical mind, and be excited about discovering and analysing new and experimental shows. We are looking for young writers who can submit work to a tight schedule (publishing reviews the day of, or one day after each show) and who are great time-keepers, making sure that you arrive on time to shows.

You must also be aged 16-25 (please note, if you're under 18 you won't have access to 18+ shows).

What will you get?

You will receive a complimentary press ticket to each show that you choose to attend. Once we have confirmed our group of Edinburgh Fringe Reviewers we will release the available tickets on a first come, first serve basis. You can also review exhibitions and free events for us.

You will also have an 'Edinburgh Fringe Voice Reviewer' flag on your account, and your reviews will be posted out on our SM channels, with your Twitter handle if you have an account.

Your work will receive a professional edit by one of Voice's editors, which will be a fantastic learning experience for any keen young writers or journalists.

How to apply

To apply, send a sample review that you have written of any live show to Voice's Editor, [email protected].

Please include your full name, date of birth and where you live. Please let us know if you need support to attend shows/exhibitions.

We welcome approaches from organisations working with young writers, but we need to have direct access to individual young people, as they will be joining our team as reviewers and need to work to our house rules.

Reviews should be kept to around 500 words. If you'd like to find writing inspiration you can check out our reviews here. voicemag.uk/reviews

Got questions?

Please don't hesitate to email the Editor at [email protected]

*Please note, this is an opportunity to work to a professional level with the Voice team. It is very important that our writers are on time for every show, and file reviews shortly afterwards. If you would like to apply and feel you may need extra support to achieve this, please do let us know when you apply so we can ensure the right support is in place.*
