We are pleased to announce that East 15's Summer Schools return to our Loughton campus this August. East 15 Acting School was one of the first conservatoires to offer Summer Schools aimed at those considering going to drama school, those wanting to know more about a particular area of acting, or those wanting to brush up on their skills.
Participants aged 17 or over can book for the East 15 summer courses on-line, and take advantage of our early bird offers which are available until 31 May 2017.
This course explores three key elements of physical theatre, all of which focus on the body as the main instrument of expression. Mask is a fundamental part of physical training and is used as a tool to help increase imagination and strong physical character choices. Basic Larval and Expressive Character masks are used to develop energetic and humorous character choices. Ensemble works through exercises drawn from Eastern Europe (including Grotowski) to create and make discoveries as a group, developing powerful and original performances. Clowning looks at the performerstripped of all pretence, politics and style leaving the human being, passionate to go on stage, in front of an audience, at any price and desperate for attention.
Fee £490 (£50 discount if paid by 31 May)
