Think Big with 02 - Brighton Fringe Registration Bursary

Brighton Fringe has hooked up with O2 Think Big to become an official Youth Partner. This means that if you are aged between 13- 25, you can apply for a Think Big fund to contribute to an event or project that will be included in Brighton Fringe.

If you have an idea and would like to apply, read below to check that you meet the criteria.

The funding is intended to cover the purchase of products and services that are essential to the project. Where essential to the success of the project, this will include travel expenses incurred and refreshments.

If you are funded…

If your application is successful, you will receive funding of £300 toward the cost of your Brighton Fringe event or project and may be given a chance to apply for the O2 Think Bigger fund of £2,500. Each project funded by O2 Think Big will receive marketing support, advice and entry to Brighton Fringe workshops.

You will be expected to keep up to date with your project and report on your progress through the online tools provided by O2.

How do I apply?

Applications have been extended to 21 January 2016.

Apply on the o2 website www.o2thinkbig.co.uk. To start your application you will need to obtain the application code from Brighton Fringe. To get this code, contact us by email.

Criteria

A young person's project will be considered for the £300 award as long as it meets the following criteria.

The project must:

1. Be based in the UK
2. Be founded by someone between 13-25 years old
3. Not be part of paid employment
4. Not aim to convert people to a political or religious organisation
5. Not be an application for funds alone
6. Not be to fund someone's training or purchase equipment if there isn't some tangible benefit to others
7. Have a positive impact outside of the project group
8. Be safe for all participants
9. Have a positive impact on the founder's and members' personal development
10. Be realistic for £300, or be a small clearly defined project within a bigger idea
11. Be underway within three months and completed within six
12. Have a beginning, middle and end

Successful applications need to be:

Complete – all question need to filled in, including FIVE project steps
Descriptive – one word answers will not be approved
Clear – if the project idea isn't clear we will only come back with questions which will delay the project starting.
Make the start date realistic – allow up to two months from applying before the project starts.
