Registration opens for Commonwealth Games ticket ballots

Registration is now open for tickets for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. A ticket ballot for entrants living in the West Midlands will open from 14 - 30 July 2021, followed by the main ballot in September 2021. To apply in the ballots, you need to create a ticketing account. The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games team will then notify you when the main ballot officially opens.

Ticket prices start at £8 for under 16s, and £15 for adults. There will be multiple ticket price categories that you can choose to apply for, with these categories corresponding to seating locations inside venues. For example, tickets in price category ‘A’ will provide seating that is generally closer to the field of play when compared to tickets in lower price categories. In addition to this, tickets priced at £22 will be available for every event across the Commonwealth Games, including the Opening and Closing ceremonies, as well as medal presentations.

If you are successful in obtaining tickets through the ballots, you will be notified by email within 30 days. Payments will be taken within 72 hours of email confirmation.

If you miss out on your original chosen price category for an event, you can choose to be entered into a ballot for tickets to the same session, but in the next price category.

The Opening Ceremony for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will take place on 28 July 2022, with the Closing Ceremony to take place on 8 August. Athletes from approximately 72 Commonwealth nations will compete across 20 different sports. The main venue for the Games will be the Alexander Stadium, where there are currently plans to increase its capacity to 40,000 in advance of the Games.
