What are you up to in your creative work at the moment?

Since completing my gold I’ve been creating a lot of content and videos for various companies and art organisations, I’ve started delivering film workshops at school and other places and I’ve been making and producing my own films which I plan to submit to film festivals and sell to distributors

What are the highlights of your arts career to date?

Some of the highlights are still having gone to the Cannes film festival in France. I learnt a lot on my trip there and it inspired me to do more so I could go again. I making more of my own films has been a highlight for me as I never really had the opportunity to tell stories in my own way I’m lucky enough to have a small team of people who are just as enthusiastic as I am for making films so I look forward to what I get to make in the future.

What do you hope to be doing in five years’ time?

I still hope to have made more films and win a few awards from different festivals around the world, but I also hope that my plans for my career succeed so that I could try and establish myself even more and make more out of what I’m making.

How did you use your level of Arts Award to develop your creativity or skills?

Doing my gold definitely gave me more confidence to approach things much differently. My experience in leadership and having done my training as an arts award adviser really helped when delivering the workshops to younger groups, I think it’s useful when you need to pass on knowledge in a helpful way.

What advice would you give to young people doing Arts Award who want to follow in your footsteps?

My advice would be to focus more in the leadership, when making films or producing a video, it’s important to contribute to your role as much as you’re able to. Having leadership skills will aid you in communicating with others, give you a better practice when collaborating with others and teaching you how to deal with clients.

In what ways, if any, would you say doing your Gold Arts Award helped your creative development?

Doing my gold arts award gave me the practice to enable me to approach other projects in a more efficient way. Whether it’s my own person film project or delivering a workshop, it taught me how to prepare and be efficient to get the best result from my work.
