Alhambra Theatre | TrinityTalent 2019

Maryam Bibi, Hareth Alshaban, Maisoun Namoura Alaa Eldin, Ulmeet Kaur, Andis Kaupelis, Azimun Abdar Begum, Hajra Bibi and Kristyna Vavrova from Alhambra Theatre are celebrated by Trinity for a Special Mention in Arts Award. 

Alhambra Theatre | TrinityTalent 2019

The class from Alhambra Theatre were nominated by their teacher from Bradford College, who worked in collaboration with The Alhambra Theatre, for their outstanding achievements and perseverance throughout tough obstacles while completing their Bronze and Silver Arts Award. Their teacher Esther Wilkey said that all of the young people involved, aged between 16 to 19 years old, have come from a difficult background and have overcome many obstacles, being asylum seekers participating in Arts Award for the first time. Arts Award has helped each young people become a whole person, settle into their community and experience a new culture and even improved their academic achievements and confidence.

How has participating in an Arts Award impacted your artistic skills or career development and what's the next steps for you? 

ULMEET KAUR: Doing the Arts Award has unleashed the artist and revealed my creativity to myself and everyone. To the candidates thinking of doing Arts Award, I would say that you don’t need to be an artist to do Arts Award, all you need is just a hunger for art and enjoyment and success is guaranteed. And, don’t be scared to think outside the box!
