Abigail was nominated by her teacher for her achievements in Drama. They said 'when Abigail began to explore and rehearse pieces for her grade 8 Speech and Drama, she showed an incredible amount of commitment to not only learning university standard theory such as Stanislavki’s seven planes and Laban’s efforts, but also to apply this theory to her practice. Abi showed an immense amount of mature learning in the characters she played and through the performance of a rich programme of work.'
In what ways would you say your Drama qualification has influenced your artistic achievement, creativity, leadership or progress?
I believe my Trinity achievement award has enabled me to gain perspective on the different methods in drama and helped me develop my practice.
How has participating in a Drama qualification impacted your artistic skills or career development?
My Speech and Drama examinations have improved my creativity, knowledge and ability in both my performance and written work.
What's next for you?
My next steps are to continue to put into practice all the skills I have learnt and to begin work on my ATCL and achieve this before I undertake my GCSE’s next year.
What are your career aims?
My career aims are to eventually perform in musicals in the west end as a musical theatre singer/actress and possibly a lecturer in drama and musical theatre.
Have you got any advice for other young people working towards a Drama qualification?
My advice to other young people is as follows:
a) Trinity College London qualifications are beneficial and important to your progression in drama and is a great achievement.
B) No matter what - regardless of your age work hard and you can achieve your goal.
