Ok Mentor host first ever Summit ‘Owning Your Path’

About this event

Starts: Wednesday 14 September 2022 12:30 PM

Ends: Wednesday 14 September 2022 5:00 PM

At: Havas Kings Cross, The HKX Building/3 Pancras Square, London, N1C 4AG

Organised by: OK Mentor

On September 14th, aspiring young creatives will be welcomed to a range of interactive workshops, panels and talks at Havas Kings Cross. Expect to hear from some of the world's leading creative females from advertising, marketing, fashion and more. There will be fantastic opportunities to meet and hear from incredible women, form a deeper understanding of values as a creative, and insight into how to start your journey towards success. Tickets for the event will be £15, a fantastic value for this hands-on, personalised experience. 100% of sales will go to covering operational costs of the event.

Guests will enjoy a panel talk titled ‘Paving the Way to Success’ with Suren Magic (Entertainment & Music Marketing Lead at Tik Tok), Eshita Kabra-Davies (founder of fashion rental app By Rotation), Naomi Walkland (VP, EMEA & APAC Marketing at Bumble) and Daniella Dickinson (Creative Director at BBC Studios). There will also be a keynote address from Dior Bediako, founder of Pepper Your Talk.

For some more hands-on experience, workshops will be held, where mentors will review mentees CV’s and provide feedback. Mentors will also host a round of speed networking with mentees to give them real-life practice. Additionally, there will be inspirational discussions on challenges that females face and, most importantly, how to overcome them.

Founded by industry titans Stef Stanley and Liz Stone, Ok Mentor is led entirely by female volunteers from companies including Google, Amazon, Bumble and Diptyque. Its mission is to give young women the tools to succeed faster, influence the global economy and close the gender pay gap.

As well as the annual Summit, they organise bi-monthly masterclasses with panel discussions, deep dive crash mentorships sessions and a soon-to-launch 1:1 mentoring platform.

Of the summit, co-founder Stef Stanley shares:

“After 2+ years of lockdowns, I'm really excited to finally be bringing together the best talent across the creative field to provide hands-on guidance and learning at a really accessible price. Our goal is for each attendee to feel as if the day is a small representation of their career path, where they will learn to understand their worth, what success looks like to them and in-depth advice from mentors on how to put it all in practice to reach their potential.”

Co-founder Liz Stone echoes:

“This event is a dream come true. A coming together of great minds with one intention - to pass down knowledge to future generations. You could see it as a mass mentoring session for all. Not only will this provide young women with confidence to pursue their career dreams, but it will teach them practical, tactical and useful tools to do so."
