Youth Action Alliance (YAA); a youth charity based in Kensington and Chelsea (K&C) are proud to announce the return of the North Kensington Youth and Community Festival. This is a free event to unite everyone as “One Community”, The festival is open to all, particularly for the local community, and we have free food, refreshments, activities and entertainment for all ages from 5 to 105 years old.

This festival brings everyone together to uplift and unite as “One Community”; celebrating our cohesion, diversity, and creativity, whilst paying tribute to the 72 lives lost in the fire. As this year marks the fifth year anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire, we want to make it extra special for the local residents, especially young people. 1800 people attended our last festival in 2019. As an organisation, the festival is important to us as it provides a free, fun and positive event for the community.

After a difficult number of years after the Grenfell Tower Fire, the pandemic and Black Lives Matter, we want to remind the community that they are supported and give young people the opportunity to connect with local services and each other to build new skills, increase their social development and promote their future ambitions.

“We love the Youth Action Alliance Festival because it's fun, brings people together and you feel comfortable to make new friends.” Young Person, 15

For this year's festival, we have partnered with external organisations such as the Grenfell Foundation, Grenfell Health & Wellbeing Service, Westway Sports & Fitness Centre, the Chelsea FC Foundation, QPR, the Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade, the Science Museum, Natural History Museum and the Roundhouse. We have brand new zones which include a wildlife zone (camel rides, exotic animals and a miniature farm). We are also providing a platform for young people to showcase their talents with special guest judges, music, sports tournaments and prizes. There will also be activities for children and young people, such as a bouncy castle, an assault course and an immersive storytelling adventure as well as a media, gaming hub and stem zone.
