19-year-old Georgia was nominated for TrinityTalent 2020 for her achievements in film for her Silver Arts Award. She completed her Arts Award with South Screen BFI Film Academy and focused on making and editing film.
Georgia was nominated by Darrienne Price, her art form tutor. Darrienne said: "Georgia was in care when she began the Screen South BFI Film Academy and started her Silver Arts Award. She left care during her time at the Academy and only missed one session as she began to move in and out of temporary housing. Georgia demonstrated perseverance during the Academy in her role of editor dealing with and solving difficulties with the sound on the film with a great deal of personal time. During the lockdown, she had some socially distanced tuition but it was her own hard work and perseverance that enabled her to complete the Silver level. We consider that Georgia has shown commitment, stamina, and personal development."
The Trinity judges said: "Georgia continued to work independently to achieve her award despite personal challenges and has progressed so far with her art she is now a mentor for new BFI Film Academy participants. This shows tremendous growth and it's evident that Georgia has been able to use art as a medium to explore personal experiences."
