GAMEPLAY: Minecraft

We start the series off with an absolute classic!

GAMEPLAY: Minecraft

Welcome to GAMEPLAY, the monthly gaming collaboration between Giddy Gamerz and Voice. To kick the series off we thought it best to go big or go home, so we’re looking at the absolute classic that is Minecraft!

Minecraft was created in 2009 by Mojang and later in 2014 was bought by Microsoft for a whopping £1.5bn!

Minecraft is a randomly generated world made of blocks, with 16-bit graphic style that has an old-school feel. You can build or break whatever you want – providing you have the right tool. Pretty simple hey?

Well, kinda!

In Minecraft, there are 2 main modes: Creative mode and survival mode.

Creative mode gives you the opportunity to build anything that you can imagine, one block at a time

Survival mode is a bit more tricky; there are monsters (known as mobs) who are out to steal from you or worse; kill you! The aim is to...well...survive, and it's up to you to build the universe that you want to live in.

Minecraft is a multi-player game, which is why we like it so much. We’re currently in a lockdown, so the only way we can hang out with our friends is online, and Minecraft is great for that. We love being together in this world of blocks where we can be and build anything we want to.
