New Artist Profile: Katie Kittermaster

Having recently got out of the blocks of balancing A-Levels with the beginnings of a blossoming music career, now spared the uncertainty of her educational studies, Kittermatser is turning her full attention to pursuing her already successful start as a singer-songwriter and she isn't holding back.

“Music is a really powerful outlet for my own emotions” stated the youthful 18 year old singer-songwriter, whose smash song ‘T-Shirt’ has already won Kittermaster prestigious awards at both The Commonwealth Song Of The Year and The UK Songwriting Contest, as well as the hit track propelling Kittermaster to the final of The Lyricist Of The Year Awards simultaneously.

Not only does Katie have desirable award titles to her name, but she has gained the attention of notable music brands from Roland Keyboards to Taylor Guitars, earning sponsorship deals as a result of her raw honesty when it comes to her songwriting style, something that is beyond the maturity levels for someone who is just 18 years old.

Another thing that sets Kittermaster apart from up and coming artists of her age range is her impressive history of live experience. Been booked to be the opening act for household staples such as Jools Holland and Marc Almond amongst many more, including X Factor royalty Louisa Johnson and Olly Murs, as well as the renowned Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy of Boyzone and Westlife, with the pair describing Katie as “The female Ed Sheeran”, it's clear Kittermaster is set for great things.

Gearing up to releasing her upcoming 5 track EP titled ‘Coming Home At Dawn’ on November 1st, this body of work offers an insight into Kittermasters craft for astute songwriting. Lead single ‘Sunday Afternoon’ serves as a fitting ode to picture-perfect relationships we all desire, where “Being in each other’s company is enough” says Kittermatser on her songs lyrical themes.

Set to embark on a 37 date tour of the UK and Europe, supporting songstress Lucy Spraggan on her headlining tour and with a forthcoming EP ‘Coming Home At Dawn’ set to drop on November 1st through AWAL, it seems for Katie Kittermaster the future is looking promising.
