The Final Glow

A poem.

The Final Glow
No wonder restaurants use candle light
To attract lonely couples
I think

As the slow glow
Flushes your face
Fuller and warmer
In the playful light

The flame
Irradiates you
Flicking a lava lamp
Of hope in your eyes

It softens you
Butters your features
Melting them
Into rounder,
Kinder curves

The candle
Flirts your lips into a fleeting grin,
Momentarily,
You beam

In the flow
Of the glow
You blow

Warmth sapped
Rekindling your darkness
You're greying
Cancer preying

Yet,
Just for a moment
I saw you glowing
