Volunteering

A summary of volunteering at Art Club.

As part of Arts Award, I volunteer - with a few others - to host an art club every week which allows us to teach younger students interested in art a variety of different art forms. The new techniques consist of stencilling, pencils, pen, traditional art, and digital art. The outcomes of their digital art was not as complex as what I learnt, but we taught them how to change brush sizes, colour, flood fill, and many of the basic tools. Each week relates to an event, for example Christmas, Diwali, Black History Month, and many others. We try and make the art form appropriate for the event, so we can teach younger people about the arts, and encourage them to pursue them in future.

I am 17 years old and hope to pursue Video Game Design as a career path. I hope to attend university later this year, and use my place in the game design community to inspire others as much as previous games have inspired me.
