Fighting Chance is a compelling documentary that follows three boxing athletes and an MBE-winning coach as they share their journeys in the challenging world of boxing. Through personal stories, the film explores themes of community, the importance of role models, mental health struggles, and the sport’s portrayal in mainstream media. It reveals the resilience and determination required to thrive in boxing, both inside and outside the ring, while shedding light on how the sport shapes lives and fosters personal growth. Fighting Chance is a heartfelt exploration of the transformative power of boxing and the stories behind its champions. 

MEET THE FILMMAKER

An award-winning Director, Writer, and Producer, and now also a YouTuber, sharing industry knowledge and insights through her @obdirect (YouTube) platform — watch and follow along for behind-the-scenes content, learnt tips, and a closer and authentic look at her filmmaker's journey from the film and TV industry. Selected for the BFI Network x BAFTA Crew 2020-2021 cohort and named Film London Lodestar 2020, she was featured in the Evening Standard as one of the Capital's 'Brightest Rising Stars,' for her quick career rise with work reflecting a blend of creative storytelling and hands-on industry expertise.

Her career portfolio includes roles such as Cast Assistant, Production Coordinator, and Runner on high-profile productions, including Fantastic Beasts 3 (Warner Bros), The Made Up Adventures of Dick Turpin (Apple TV+), Chernobyl (HBO & Sky Atlantic), All The Old Knives (Amazon Studios), Martin's Close (BBC Four), Dad's Army: The Lost Episodes (Gold, UKTV), and Trust Morecambe & Wise (Gold, UKTV). Additional experience includes work as a Production Manager and Production Coordinator on documentaries, low-budget short films, campaigns, and high-end commercials.

Directing experience includes short films, client promos, and a British Council behind-the-scenes shoot. Honoured with multiple accolades, including winning 2024 Best Director and Best British Documentary awards, along with honourable UK and international film festival mentions for impactful storytelling and vision.

Writing credits include two episodes (four and five) of the mini-series 21, commissioned by Public Health England, which achieved over 431,000 views on TikTok and YouTube. A short playwright script performed at the Kiln Theatre. She also produced a short documentary, Skin of the Earth, which premiered on Apple TV+.

Adesh Sekhon:

A British-Sikh Filmmaker, A team member at Fully Focused Productions who specialises in directing and camera department. He has worked on variety of professional sets in

various roles from camera trainee to 1st AC. He also has recently produced a short documentary “Loose Parts” which premiered on AppleTV. Along with his experience in the camera department, he has also directed a variety of projects such as music videos and short films. He is very passionate about technicality of films and telling stories visually. Over the course of his fresh career he has fully indulged himself in cameras such as the Arri Alexa, Arri Mini, Amira and many more. This has allowed him to start stepping up in his roles and jobs.

His other experience includes being a crowd PA for “Riches” (Amazon Prime), Office Runner for “The Diplomat” (Netflix) and a Location Marshall at London North Studios for various HETV

productions. He also produced a training film for the Metropolitan Police, which is currently used as a training film for young recruits.
