I  used the props again, including the notebook to look like an account book and a map, although the envelope to keep them in kept splitting. I still have to learn the other half of my monologue, but I'm really pleased that I managed to learn this.

I am now sending a copy of me doing this to a professional performer and stage manager to get his feedback and advice. I will upload his response in another post. 

We bought a copy of a 2013 TV mini seies of Treasure Island with Eddie Izzard, to help understand the book better. An actor called Toby Regbo played Jim Hawkins, which is my character, so I learnt lots of tips.
