It took just under 2 months to organise everything, but after all that we managed to pull it off successfully!
The evening started with us arriving at Amandines Restaurant (our venue for the evening) and setting up everything for people to arrive and go "WOW!"
Of course, at 7pm we were ready and people started to arrive! It was wonderful to see loads of people (both new and old) visiting our event to find out more about our company, and I even got the chance to speak to a couple of people, which was completely out of my comfort zone!
At the start of the evening, Emrys Green (my boss and Arts Award Leader) stood up and spoke about Unit Twenty Three; from vital beginnings, to what we've done, what we're doing, what we will do.
It also acted as a public hand-over of the Projects Co-ordinator role for former employee Joshua Gould, who left us in December 2015 (*cries*), and officially handed the role over to our new employee, Jess Thomas.
After that was all done and dusted, there were a few relaxing performances from acoustic musicians Don't Lose Heart, Petra Gerrard and Dave Thomas (one of the directors at Unit Twenty Three), who even announced the new Blues Rock Academy!
The evening was really successful for me, as I had never run an event before and to see such positive feedback is really good! In fact, I really hope to run something similar in the future. Want my advice for running your own Gold project? Do it before you regret it!
