Peckham

What Makes Peckham, Peckham? Over the past 7 years, the young people of Rainbow Collection Animation Club have produced many award winning animated films about their community in Peckham. Now, their first ever documentary combines this body of work with interviews around their neighbourhood to investigate the impact of gentrification on their community and their own futures.
The Rose

Breaking Rules on the Dance Floor
Featured 10th - 16th February 2025
The film captures the revolutionary spirit of Sanura Dance School, where founder Sandy Chuchuca, instructor Kasia Adenitire, and their students challenge traditional gender roles in salsa and bachata. In a world where men lead and women follow, Sanura creates space for everyone to learn both roles, welcoming women and the queer community to reshape the narrative. Through intimate interviews and dynamic dance sequences, this project celebrates diversity and inclusion, sparking a conversation about equity and innovation in Latin dances. The aim is to educate and inspire other dance schools to embrace similar practices, but also anyone interested in trying an innovative and empowering way of dancing.

Stuck With You
Featured 3rd - 9th March 2025
Poetry Film exploring a woman's relationship with identity. It explores what it means to finally accept the person in the mirror and rather than strive to fit in spaces and places which aren't for you, to instead, create the path you want to walk towards.
The Iron Men
Featured 10th - 16th March 2025
'The Iron Men' is a short film shot in Merseyside featuring Antony Gormley's 'Another Place' art display. Consisting of cast iron figures, the display was first exhibited in Germany during the late 1990's, before being moved to Crosby Beach in Merseyside during the early 2000's. Many local residents soon campaigned for their permanent installation, and they remain here almost two decades later. I based the film's on a poem I wrote during lockdown about the statues (known locally as 'The Iron Men'.
Last Night
Featured 17th - 23rd March 2025
A group of young students go out on a night out. They go to the pub and get drunk and have fun. The night takes a turn for the worst when Jack, one of the group, has a sudden cardiac arrest on the walk home. The group frantically struggle to deal with the situation, attempting to perform CPR but failing to deal with the problem due to stress and being under the influence of alcohol. The film attempts to convince the audience of the importance of learning CPR as you never know when you may have to use it to save a life.
Murder on the Dancefloor: The Dancing Plague of 1518

As the sole credit for this short film- from research and writing to editing and sound- I explore this bizarre historical phenomenon with a mixture of humour and informative storytelling.

After losing her job, Mo returns to her sleepy hometown, drifting through the monotony of survival. Her fragile calm shatters when an unexpected call from an old friend confronts her with the harsh reality of her downfall. Seeking solace in the comforting glow of childhood TV shows, Mo begins to lose herself in a haze of nostalgia. But the deeper she retreats, the more the past she tried to bury claws its way to the surface, pulling her into a haunting spiral of repressed memories and unresolved pain.
Fighting Chance

Fighting Chance is a compelling documentary that follows three boxing athletes and an MBE-winning coach as they share their journeys in the challenging world of boxing. Through personal stories, the film explores themes of community, the importance of role models, mental health struggles, and the sport’s portrayal in mainstream media. It reveals the resilience and determination required to thrive in boxing, both inside and outside the ring, while shedding light on how the sport shapes lives and fosters personal growth. Fighting Chance is a heartfelt exploration of the transformative power of boxing and the stories behind its champions.
