Lexi Talbot | TrinityTalent 2019

Lexi is celebrated by Trinity for Progress in Rock and Pop.

Lexi was nominated by her art form teacher. They said 'Lexi has made great progress over two years, is fully committed and showing great promise as a competent performer both at school and local performing arts centres. Her enthusiasm and stamina are outstanding and I am certain with your support and encouragement she will have a successful performing career.'

How has participating in an Rock and Pop impacted your artistic skills or career development?

My Trinity exams have given me a goal to aim for and have helped me build my perseverance and resilience. My Trinity exams have given me more confidence and because of it I have sung a much wider range of songs than I would normally have chosen.  Although improvisation scared me at first it has now become one of my favourite parts.

What's next for you?

I am working towards my grade 7 rock and pop exam in March this year.

What are your career aims?

I would love to study music or musical theatre at college.  I want to pursue a career in the music industry because I love to sing.

Have you got any advice for other young people working towards a Rock and Pop qualifications?

My advice is PRACTISE! In the long run, practising is definitely worth it to get to where you want to be and is the only way to improve. Also, enjoy the whole thing as that will give you motivation.
