In The Ritual, Aowen will bring the magic of Chinese spiritual traditions alive within the gallery, and shape it into her own sacred sphere using rice. In this expanse she will create a massive phosphorescent rice field - a shining and glowing art installation which only becomes visible under ultra violet light. Viewers are invited to walk on the rice fields, with or without shoes, and feel the rice field shining beneath them as they explore.
The Ritual
The Ritual is a contemporary art event by British-Chinese artist Aowen Jin. It will take over Compton Verney as part of the Museums at Night this October.
