The Odyssey is set in a war torn modern day. It is now, but not our now, it is an alternative universe where Gods still have a presence amongst humans, and the war has destroyed modern technology. It has seen everyone resorting to simpler life, and has seen soldiers fighting hand to hand combat. No guns, or big artillery, instead the weapon of choice is a hunting knife. The story is one of pointless war, child soldiers, and the struggles to find out where you belong in the world, how you fit in, and how you take responsibility for your actions as you move from adolescence to adulthood. Told through the eyes of Penelope, Telemachus, Athena, Odysseus and his crew we see this epic story of loss, love and perseverance to do what is right and to get home unfold.
