On Thursday 23 February Darren Henley, CEO of Arts Council England, will speak at Young People in the Arts's next event in the 'Intern to CEO' series. He will talk about his life and work in the arts, his experience of developing a successful career and the challenges he faces as CEO of a major organisation. The event will be followed by a Q&A with the audience.
This is the second event in YPIA's 'Intern to CEO' series, in which successful heads of organisations talk about their journey through the arts, or sometimes through completely different fields. The first event featured the Directors of the Royal Opera House and V&A Museum.
Darren Henley has been Chief Executive of Arts Council England since April 2015. He previously spent twenty-five years working in radio, leading Classic FM for fifteen years, first as Managing Editor and then as Managing Director. He was appointed an OBE in 2013 for services to music.
Darren will be interviewed by music journalist Harry White. The event will be followed by networking drinks at the Century Club's bar.
Young People in the Arts is a networking organisation for cultural professionals at the outset of their career, organising monthly events and networking opportunities in London. There is no age limit, everyone is welcome. More information about YPIA is available on www.ypia.co.uk.
