The Spark Festival 2022

About this event

Starts: Saturday 12 February 2022 12:00 PM

Ends: Saturday 12 February 2022 5:00 PM

At: Leicester

Organised by: Spark Festival

The Spark Festival is a free and family-friendly event taking place on 12 February in Leicester. There’s no need to book to attend because you and your family can simply turn up between 11 am - 3 pm.

We’ll give you the lowdown on some of our personally recommended events, but for more information, visit their website.

Spark will be taking over the city’s biggest attractions, like The Curve Theatre and Leicester Museum. Rather, local school children will be taking over these iconic attractions from a number of schools like Ash Field Academy, Mellor School, Mayflower School and Falcons School.

These children will be helped by several professional artists, photographers, poets and magicians, including Sian W Taylor and Rachel Scanlon, Samuel Kirby, John Berkavitch and Adam Chappell.

Together, they will be putting on a whole host of activities where there is fun for the whole family; workshops, yoga classes, poetry readings, comedy club, magic shows, a disco and a groundbreaking augmented reality trail!

Trina Haldar of The Spark Festival commented;

"We are so excited to bring you The Spark Festival 2022. The ambition for this year’s programme is to experience the extraordinary in the seemingly ordinary and to ignite the imaginations of children. How we will do this is by offering high quality artistic performances and activities that reflect our incredible city. We are proud to present a festival that truly represents the vibrancy of Leicester, where everyone is welcome to come together and celebrate being themselves.“
