What art form did you explore in your Bronze Arts Award?
Film, photography, costume design and art.
What events did you go to?
Tyler - We went to the Tara Theatre near our school and had a tour around.
Shamiya - We went to Tate Modern and took part in some graffiti and photography.
Tyler - We went to the Barbican and created our own stop motion animation.
Shamiya - We went to the V&A Museum and dressed up in different costumes.
Tell us about an artist you worked with
Tyler - A professional photographer called Nigel Davies came to show us his different cameras and then we used the iPads to take different photos with lighting effects.
How did you share your arts skills?
Shamiya & Tyler - We made film trailers and showed them on the big screen in the assembly hall. Then we announced the winners and we had a special guest filmmaker give out Oscars.
What was most valuable to you personally?
Shamiya - My favourite thing was making a film trailer because I got to be the boss! I was the director and told the actors what to do.
Tyler – My favourite thing was making a Bollywood film trailer because I got to make people laugh by dancing and acting.
What was challenging?
Shamiya – The hardest thing was teaching a drama game to the class for Bronze Arts Award Part D, as I had to get them to listen. It made me realise that teaching is hard!
