Digital Creativity in Primary Schools - At Mozfest 2017

We are really excited to be coming to MozFest this month!

Digital Creativity in Primary Schools - At Mozfest 2017

We are Shelby Johnston and Sarah Longfield from See Think Make cic. We are a social enterprise that supports Arts Award across Scotland. Each year we run an ambitious project to show how Arts Award could work in different settings. For the MozFest fringe last year, we ran an Arts Award Takeover in Kaimhill Primary in Aberdeen. A very brave head teacher handed us a blank timetable and, for a whole week the school was full of music, drama, dance, art and LOADS of digital creativity. Sometimes the tech was used to evidence other activity, but other times it was just about making art (in a wide range of art forms).

We're coming to MozFest to share how we delivered this project, how it fit within the curriculum and to spend a bit of time playing on our tablets.

You can find out more about our Takeover project here: www.seethinkmake.co.uk/takeover

In this session you'll be playing with the apps and technology we used, jumping in front a green screen and using camjam to make music! It's going to be a fun exploration of creativity and digital technology ideal for anyone.

Shelby is really close to finishing her Gold Arts Award and MozFest will be part of that;
"I'm very excited to be using this experience of highlighting and exploring how to involve tech within people's creative journey's as part of my own Arts Award journey! I've been working with a whole range of artists throughout my Arts Award and look forward to building on this network of creative and innovative minds that can contribute and help inspire the last few parts of my Gold Arts Award..."

Sarah (who is a bit too old to do a Gold) is one of the Mozilla Open Leaders on their mentoring programme and is loving the very steep learning curve.
