Summer Showcase: Mellow the Stork-Human Hybrid

This is my entry for the Voice Summer Showcase. The final design of a newborn baby stork-human hybrid named Mellow, done digitally. Her backstory revolves around the saying 'birds of a feather flock together' or being considered guilty by association.

This is my entry for the Voice Summer Showcase. I created this digital painting of a baby stork-human hybrid called Mellow, which is based on a short flash story I wrote for my Gold Arts Award. I'm exploring storytelling in different ways, with the connections between humans and animals as my muse. I attempted to flesh out a backstory for Mellow that focuses on the saying 'birds of a feather flock together. The main message is that one shouldn't be judged based on the actions of the ones around them as ‘birds of a feather flock together’ focuses on judging one based on those around them. One of the characters, Dilbert, refuses to aid Mellow because they consider her guilty by association with an infamous character, which shouldn't have happened. Gamin gets refused a job delivering babies due to not being a stork and hanging around home-wrecker cuckoo birds. He never does bad things and resorted to kidnapping baby Mellow so he can prove the storks wrong about ‘birds of a feather flock together. The message behind Mellow's full backstory is getting to know the individual's situation before drawing conclusions is important, everyone is different, and generalizing anyone is wrong.
