Festival ready! Here's what I'm looking forward to in summer 2021...

The road map has been announced and it’s looking like there might be a *slim* chance that festivals go ahead this summer… I simply can’t imagine another year without live music and sunshine in tents and fields so I’m already thinking ahead about what this year could bring!

Glastonbury might be off the cards, but here’s a list of events I can’t wait to attend in summer 2021!

Reading and Leeds

This festival juggernaut has confirmed to be going ahead so far! It’s an absolute right of passage for each child in the UK to make their way to one of these two festivals at some point during their teenage years, and I can’t wait to go again! The incredible Stormzy is headlining, just after my boy Lewis Capaldi - and the line up hasn’t even fully been announced yet so there’s sure to be plenty more to come!

Creamfields

It’s time to get the bucket hats out… The UK’s biggest electronic music festival is one I’ve wanted to go to for ages, and I can’t believe this year I will actually get to go! I’ve wanted to go to a deadmau5 set for years, and Above&Beyond are taking to the decks as well… This promises to be a wild weekend, and I for one cannot wait.

BST Hyde Park

One of the best events of the capital, the summertime gig in Hyde Park was sorely missed during the amazing lockdown weather last year. It’s sure to be worth the wait though, with DuranDuran, Pearl Jam, IDLES, Nile Rodgers and Grace Jones all playing! Take me to the park already!!

Meltdown Festival

Speaking of Ms. Jones, she’s catering the Southbank’s festival this summer - which means the lineup is immense. Solange, Peaches, Skunk Anansie, Lee Scratch Perry, Jimmy Cliff and Ladysmith Black Mambazo are all on the line up, and the Southbank is one of London’s most magical locations. This promises to be a very special weekend in a very special place.

End of the Road Festival

This is a cute one. It’s a vibey festival full of hippies and pints and chilled out music, but with one hell of a party scene once the light goes down. I saw Mac DeMarco here a couple of years ago and I absolutely cannot wait to see the triumphant return of Black Country, New Road now that their debut album is out - they’ve been long term performers at the festival!

Honestly, with this much going on, I might need to book a holiday! This summer promises to be a busy one, and an emotional one - with a return to live music and dancing for us all… I simply can’t wait.
