Australian outfit President Street have been wowing listeners and gaining fans with their unique pop fusion sound and cool, laid-back vibes. Riding high after the release of their previous music video (featuring Television star Kate Jenkinson) President Street now return with the music video for their emotionally charged and politically motivated single 'Back Home'.
Pete, President Street's main man, noticed the derision and anger that refugee's received from politicians and citizens alike and realised he had to something about it. And so 'Back Home' was born... Written from the perspective of a mother trying to get her family to safety, the track aims to return the humanity to the refugee crisis, and to remind everyone that these are simply people who are trying to find their new 'home' after having to leave their original one. The track encourages us all to be more compassionate and understanding to refugee's and urges us to try and put ourselves in their position.
The single, and accompanying music video, are being released in partnership with Breaking Barriers - London's leading refugee aid charity. Breaking Barriers are a unique organisation that provides an unparalleled service to address the systemic social and economic issues of integration from refugee communities. Breaking Barriers offer a holistic service designed to make sure that refugees can find meaningful employment that is commensurate with their skills, experience and qualifications.
