FIFA fans never seem to be completely happy. Each year, there seems to be another issue with the game. Whether it be the overuse of pace, or online issues. FIFA 16 was bound to have its own issues and it surely did. However, this didn't make it a bad game. In my opinion, this game has been a fine piece of work from EA. However, there is still work to do. In this article I will explain why I feel that EA will always be behind gaming companies such as 2K sports unless they make changes.
I've enjoyed this game. Online gaming feels pretty smooth, and there doesn't seem to be too many gameplay issues either.
However, FIFA have a huge issue that seems to be overlooked every year. The game is pretty much the same every year. Ok, kits are changed and squads are updated. They might add a few tweaks to the game modes etc but what about adding a new game mode? What about adding more depth to Career Mode?
FIFA do make changes, don't get me wrong. But usually aren't very popular one. A few years ago they introduced tactical defending, which is basically a little more complicated way of defending. This wasn't a very popular change. More recently, they made a few tweaks to the career mode. In short, they made making transfers pretty complicated. For someone who pretty much only buys FIFA for career mode, this disturbed me. I hardly played FIFA after this. I even skipped FIFA 15, and skipping a year is unheard of for me. I decided to give 16 a try and I'm still not satisfied.
EA Sports will always be behind a company such as 2K Sports in my opinion. 2K know how to entertain, and make a game interesting. Their NBA series is nothing short of amazing. From the graphics to the gameplay. Their version of 'Career mode' is much more entertaining. Whilst the game has tons of game modes.
I'm not saying that I hate FIFA or anything, because I don't. I've had some good moments with that game during my life. But my point is the standards are dropping. Since FIFA 14, I haven't been enjoying the game as much. I'm sure many others feel differently. However, that's my opinion. FIFA need to make drastic changes if they are to bring back the ultimate gaming experience.
