Watch Bitter:Sweet Dreamlike Visuals for New Single 'Rise'

Soulful group Bitter:Sweet has unveiled the emotional and visually stunning music video for their latest single, 'Rise'. Singer-songwriter and vocalist Shana Halligan delivers a mesmerizing visual counterpart to the emotional new track.

Los Angeles-based duo Bitter:Sweet has unveiled the official music video for their latest single, Rise, an evocative and deeply personal visual tribute that captures themes of resilience, loss, and transformation. The video, featuring intimate archival footage and cinematic storytelling, serves as a heartfelt homage to frontwoman Shana Halligan’s late father, Grammy-winning composer and Blood, Sweat & Tears co-founder Dick Halligan.

Rise is a poignant track written during the final days of Shana’s father’s life. The song, which blends Bitter:Sweet’s signature lush arrangements with a stirring vocal performance, channels the emotional journey of love, grief, and the strength to move forward. The newly released video amplifies the song’s raw energy with visuals that blend personal history and abstract dreamlike sequences.

Reflecting on the significance of the video, Halligan shared: “This music video brings everything full circle in the most cathartic way for me. To be able to fully release all of the pain, heart, and love that went into writing this song just before my father passed away and now have the visual component to match my vision so authentically is truly a gift. I wanted this to convey us as honestly as possible, so we included clips of my dad and me. It is a cinematic love letter to him. I dedicate this to you, Dad, for a lifetime of inspiration.”
