Following on from scripting & directing my short 3 shot film while working through the Young Film Academy Course.I had to edit my 3 shot film all together using the Power Director software, which the Film Academy course recommends. This meant joining all three shots together and adding music and title etc. I really do not like using Power Director. It is difficult to understand and not user friendly. It also takes alot of time! And we will use a different editing software for the final film I think. My mum says she has found another editing package. I am making a decision to change something, which i think will be better for the project, which i think is a good leadership quality. I also thought about what was good and bad about this first film which i hope will help with the next, final big project.
I had to make decisions about the music, font, filters and how and where to cut the shots, which is again a good example of decision making.
I enjoyed watching a Charlie Chaplin silent movie clip in the Young Film Academy course, so, my mum suggested adding some silent movie music and I made a bit of it black and white to show the drama of monkey when he is missing.
For the last shot, which was the close up I was thinking about jaws and scary movies, so I thought the music I chose was apropriate and a bit funny too.
Now that I have learnt all about how to make a film I feel ready to move onto to the 10-shot part of the Young Academy Film course, which will be used to make my final Unit 2 project film.
