The Traitors Season Three was the perfect way to begin the New Year, chasing away those oh-too-familiar January blues. Viewers were hooked to their television screens every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evening while the show aired, and one player in particular that made headline news was Fozia - taking one for the team by being the first to step off the train in episode one, then being the first player to be released from her cage a few episodes later and thus able to re-enter the game. Fozia made an immediate impact in this series, from speaking her mind at round tables, earning her the title of 'most perceptive player' in my Who Is...The Traitors Edition article, to clashes with Traitor Linda, and finally departing in a face-to-face murder during The Death Match challenge.
I had the honour of hearing from the player herself a little bit more about her time on the show, and the first thing I wanted to find out was, did the players that got off the train know that they would have the ability to rejoin the game later on? It was insightful to find that the contestants' reactions we witnessed on screen were highly authentic, as Fozia revealed that 'I had no idea whether I was coming back' or not.
On entering the game Fozia declared that she was very happy to be chosen as a Faithful as that was what she wanted to be all along, however many fans speculated that she would make a good Traitor, but the woman herself said 'as for being a Traitor I will never know, but I do have a feisty side', which we were all privileged to witness during her short stint on the programme.
I'm sure that everyone wants to know who each player found as their immediate threats on entering the game, and Fozia revealed that for her 'the immediate threats were the two traitors (Linda and Minah). I was suspecting and concerned that I would be murdered as I was vocal and clued up', and it would appear those suspicions materialised sooner than hoped.
My final question for Fozia was 'what was your favourite part of the process' to which she responded that it was just 'the ability of being in the series of an iconic show', and iconic is truly the word to use for it.
Unfortunately we have a whole twelve months to wait for another 'iconic' season of The Traitors, but no need to fear, as BBC's The Apprentice begins this Thursday at 9pm, which is sure to bring the drama we are all hoping for.
