My whole project for Unit 2 is based around making a short film. In order to make my film I had to learn how to do it. So my mum signed my up to a short online Film School Course with the Young Film Academy. I completed the course Introduction, a history of film and started the lesson on fight choreography. My first task was to try out the first course exercise which is learning to punch on screen using the 'hidden angle'. I have to film this with several people and then swap roles, so one person gets a chance to act it out, while the other one films it. The 'hidden angle' is when the camera films behind two people so you can't see that there is a big distance between them when they're punching on screen. You also need to use fruit like melons to make the sound of the punch by hitting it with a bat, or using a wet cloth or rolling pin or just punching into your own hand. I will be able to add the sound effect using 'Power Director' film making software. This task will help show my leadership and working with people skills.
