Rising Rock 'diamond' PETCH releases her latest single the darkly intuitive "Ultraviolet"

Hot off the heels opening for rock legends Placebo at Shepherd’s Bush Empire and international festivals, 14-year-old Thai rock sensation Vimolwan Saisathit a.k.a. PETCH  releases her latest single, “Ultraviolet”.

Rising Rock 'diamond' PETCH releases her latest single the darkly intuitive "Ultraviolet"
Why the name PETCH? It’s the Thai word for ‘Diamond’. And just like a diamond, this 14-year-old rock and guitar prodigy is tough, unbreakable, and shines brighter than anyone else. Starting from humble beginnings, PETCH was busking on the streets of Bangkok from a very young age. She made her mark on ‘Asia’s Got Talent’ at just eight years old, where 16-time Grammy-winning judge David Foster famously declared her “destined for great things.” He wasn’t wrong.
During Covid lockdowns, PETCH honed her style and gained confidence, putting her unique spin on all the rock and metal legends. It was her cover of Deep Purple’s ‘Smoke On The Water’ that caught the eye of Riverman, the Bangkok/UK team known for bringing Nirvana to Europe and managing Placebo, who debuted on fierce panda records in 1995. Some might call that fate.

Shepherds Bush Empire, 16th July 2024:Placebo are headlining to raise money for Mercy Centre, a charity that supports underprivileged children in Bangkok; in addition, the show marked 35 years of Riverman Management. Petch stormed the stage to open proceedings with a truly astonishing 4 track set which included a cover of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman,” instantly electrifying the crowd. The audience’s roaring approval was a testament to her killer stage presence and undeniable skill.  This Diamond is not only shining- she is dazzling.

PETCH’S new single “Ultraviolet” is out now and follows her three previous tracks: the wonderfully intimidating “Hatemail”, grungey deadpan belter “9 Volter”and the glossy alt-rock melodies and brooding guitars of “Black Neon”.

“Ultraviolet” is a song very much embodies the meaningful melodic rock of Evanescence and the punchy angst of Linkin Park. PETCH insists, too, that the meaning of the song is to follow your deepest darkest intuition. “Kill the light and follow the ultraviolet light that glows. It will get you where you deserve and want to be.”

From humble beginnings and forged under immense pressure, PETCH is now an erupting wild volcano of talent with an unbreakable core. And that, my friends, is how true ‘diamonds’ are made.

PETCH is currently co-writing and recording her debut album and will have a full season of touring in Europe in 2025
