Good To Know: How artists’ prosthetic masks are fooling people

Discover how prosthetics have advanced to an almost unidentifiable level

When people think of prosthetic masks, I’m sure many of us still remember a time when they were embarrassingly unconvincing, not unlike the Mission Impossible rubbery flop of a mask. However, as skills and artistry have advanced, so have prosthetic masks. In this video by Wired, these hyperreal masks have been shown to fool participants in studies easily.
