Hello and a warm welcome to our very first Arts Award alumni newsletter.
We’re excited that you’re keeping in touch after completing your Arts Award and we look forward to hearing about what you’re currently up to, whether that’s participating in local arts activities, doing another Arts Award, going to uni, starting your own business or forging your career as an artist.
We hope to help you make those first steps into the arts world and beyond, by providing you with news from the cultural sector, tips from industry professionals and offers and events that will help you stay in the know!
We want to hear from you so and this is a great place for us to profile what you’re up to, so if you’re doing something great in the arts, then let us know!

We’re a collection of Arts Award achievers from the past 12+ years and we want to share what we’re doing and also gain benefits for network members. What’s Arts Award doing now?
Well, in 2017 Trinity made around 72,000 awards and there have now been over 356,000 awards achieved in total! So Arts Award is growing and here to stay. The Arts Award Impact Study tracked young people over four years and showed a real impact on their confidence and subsequent career paths. There’s a nice summary on theArts Award main website. We always knew Arts Award works wonders!
In 2012, two new levels were added to Bronze, Silver and Gold, so now Arts Award is available to anyone aged 0-25. Arts Award Discover is an introductory certificate issued by Trinity College London and Arts Award Explore is an Entry Level 3 qualification – ideal for children and to prepare them for tackling Bronze upwards from the age of 11.
Otherwise, alumni from a decade ago would still recognise the Arts Award – despite a new logo and continuing improvements, including Voice magazine and a network for young creatives! It’s also great to see so many achievers going on to run Arts Award as an adviser (check out the training discount!)

Get advice from professionals
Voice offers you a new Arts Careers section which includes interviews and profiles of cultural organisations.
Voice also runs a lively listings of events and opportunities across the UK.
Networking opportunities
The first place to go is our Facebook group –Arts Award Voice Community. If you’d like to get together in person, then we recommend YPIA (Young People in the Arts) who hold events regularly in London and other cities around the UK.

Keep us up to date
This is our BIG ASK - please keep your profile on Voice up to date as this is the only way we know what Arts Award achievers are doing. Each year we’ll remind you to update a few simple questions. Just edit your profile. They include:
- Your current work/education status
- Which sector you’re working/studying in
- Your job title
- Your dream job
- What you found most useful in your Arts Award experience
