Arts Award on Voice

Callum Conroy is a poet and writer and is doing his Gold Arts Award alongside his A-Levels.

Back in the dying months of 2016, I was asked by my Arts Award centre, Peshkar, to be a part of the leadership for the Creative Career Pathway at the Waterhead Academy, Oldham.

Voice Reporter, Maddie is a vlogger and budding journalist and trained at the York Theatre Royal where she achieved the three highest levels of Arts Award.

Voice contributor Luke completed his Gold Arts Award as part of his apprenticeship, and is now a full time employee of Unit Twenty Three.

DJ and Nicole are both dancers with Corali Dance Company, a UK company who focus on performers with learning disabilities, pairing them with collaborators from the wider dance world, offering career development and training opportunities. Here we meet two of their dancers who have completed Arts Award, at Bronze and Silver.

My first experience of Arts Award was when I got involved in Express Yourself, a project run by City Arts in Nottingham.

I first came across Arts Award during work experience at the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2013, where I was given the opportunity to complete a Bronze Arts Award alongside the course.
