Following the success of the Gold Expo held in London in June 2016, the East Midlands are hosting our own event on 13th march 2018.
The event will be an hour long and take a marketplace format - with pop-up performances, gallery exhibition and workshops on a table-top throughout. It will be happening mid-morning and is at Stamford Court, University of Leicester, as part of The Mighty Creative's Arts Award Conference.
We have limited spaces available so get your applications in ASAP. But who can apply?
- You must currently or have previously attended an Arts Award Centre in the East Midlands region (Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire & Nottinghamshire)
- You must be working on an Arts Award or have completed it already
- You can attend independently, coming with a parent/guardian if you're under 16, or you can come as part of a group with your adviser from a Centre
- You must be able to:
- Run a table-top workshop (usually creative writing, crafts, visual arts, coding etc) for at least 30 minutes in a drop-in style; OR
- Show a video or live performance not more than 5 minutes long; OR
- Display some of your artwork printed & backed ready to be hung or stood on display
- Remember, if you're performing live this will be a 'pop-up' opportunity - think busking. You won't have a backstage space or opportunity for a big set. But a few props in a marked out stage at floor level will be fine. We can also mic up an instrument or your voice.
